Cement Based Mortar

Monneli Rasocell

Flexible Cementitious Plaster for Thin Applications

Uses
Due to its high characteristics, RASOCELL can be applied as a thin coat from 1mm to 4mm directly on AAC (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) blocks without the need to prime the surface. RASOCELL can also be used as a smoothing and plastering coat for all cementitious and concrete surfaces. RASOCELL can be used for internal and external application.

Application Information
Instructions for use

Mixing

RASOCELL can be applied by traditional manual application or by plastering machines.

To prepare the mortar, pour 5.0 - 5.5 liters of water into a clean container and add slowly, while mixing, 25 kg of RASOCELL bag. Mix carefully for few minutes till obtaining a homogeneous mixture free from lumps.

Application

Apply RASOCELL in double coat with smooth spatula. To obtain a perfect finishing, the first coat of the mortar must be applied in thin layer, and while it is still fresh, the following coat must be applied to the required thickness.

Once dried at touch, the surface can be finished with smooth spatula or sponge to obtain the esthetical effect desired.

If a plaster machine is used, the plaster would be applied in a continuous operation and finished manually to the specified thickness.

Protect the surface from too rapid water evaporation. Differences of temperature or strongly ventilated areas during application may cause increase or decrease of initial and final setting times.

In order to ensure proper curing, it is advisable to keep the plastered surface wet for minimum 48 hours.

Cleaning

Tools and equipment should be cleaned with water immediately after use. Hardened materials should be mechanically removed.

Recommendations

  • Do not apply RASOCELL onto gypsum, metallic or wooden supports. RASOCELL is not coloured so the possibility of non-perfectly homogeneous coloured finishing exists
  • ASOCELL is a cement based product. All precautions of proper curing of concrete and mortar should be applied.
  • For large areas of walls it is recommended to fix light weight fibre glass mesh on the whole surface between the first and second coatings
  • No further water should be added to the mix. Hard and set plaster should not be re-mixed or used
  • The applied plaster has to be water cured for a period of 2 days
  • Before applying any kind of stucco finish, paint, or wall paper the plaster has to be allowed to dry out completely
Surface Preparation

The support must be clean, solid and free from dust, grease, friable parts, efflorescence, etc.

Aerated autoclaved concrete block walls must be planar and clean from adhesive residues after blocks laying.

Possible chases (as a result of plumbing and electrical works) must be filled with the same adhesive used for laying (NEOFIL BLOCK).

For joints which were previously filled with elastic material like polyurethane foam, a supporting glass fibres fabric must be fixed.

It is strongly recommended to saturate the support with water before applying the mortar.
