Application Information
Instructions for use

Surface preparation

All surfaces should be sound, clean & uncontaminated.  This preparation should leave an exposed concrete surface free from dust, loose particles, deleterious matter, oil, grease, chemical films & other contaminants.
All loose particles of mortar, paint, etc. must be physically removed.
Concrete or blockwork: allowed to cure sufficiently so that all shrinkage movements take place before fixing tiles.
Gypsum supports: treat with PRIMER A16.  Should not have a percentage of humidity more than 10%.
The surface of substrates must be moistened slightly with clean water to reduce the absorption of water from the mortar.  Do not moistened the tiles.

Mixing

Place 5.0 – 5.25 liters of cold, potable water (or ELASTOKOL as needed) in the mixing bucket and add slowly 25 kg bag of NEOFIL F10 under continuous mixing till a uniform lump free consistency mix is achieved. For mixing process, a slow speed drill (200- 300rpm) fitted with a suitable paddle is recommended.

Allow the obtained mix to stand for 5 minutes and then remix before application.

Application

Spread NEOFIL F10 on the substrate to a uniform thickness of 3mm using a toothed spatula, the first pass with its smooth part and the second pass, immediately after, to the desired thickness using the toothed part.

Place the tiles onto the adhesive bed. Apply sufficient pressure on the tile during fixing with slight twisting movement in order to ensure good contact with the mortar.

In case of large size tiles, it is necessary to spread the adhesive also to the backside of the tile and then place the tiles into the adhesive bed.

Apply enough material that can be tiled during the adhesive's open wet time. Spreading large areas may result in drying the adhesive before tiles can be fixed causing poor adhesion.

The mosaic and tiles should be installed starting from top towards the bottom with a firm pressure to ensure a good contact with the adhesive.

Finishing

Remove excess adhesive with damp cloth before the material has set. Joint grouting between tiles may be commenced 10hours after tiles has been laid on the walls and 24 hours after tiles are laid on the floors.

Cleaning

Tools and equipment should be cleaned with water immediately after use. Hardened materials should be mechanically removed.

Recommendations

n For improved adhesion strength and higher elasticity, it is recommended to replace water with ELASTOKOL

n For ceramic tile installations when an adhesive layer thicker than 5mm is required

n Floor  and  wall  coverings  installed  with NEOFIL F10 must not be washed down or exposed to rain for at least 24 hours and must be protected from direct sunlight and frost for at least 5 – 7 days after the installation

n Basins and swimming pools can be filled with water after 14 days of applying NEOFIL F10.

n Do not use NEOFIL F10 on woods, metal, rubber, PVC or linoleum surfaces

n Do not apply NEOFIL F10 on moist substrates as it would slow down its setting
