Technical Information
Product Description

A single component, flexible fiber reinforced cementitious plaster composed of high resistant cement, graded fillers, lime and special additived. It is recommended for internal and external applications with a thickness from 6 to 10mm in one layer. Due to it's content additives, PLASTOCELL can be applied directly to primed cementitious or concrete substrates without the need of rush coat.

Can be applied by traditional hand application or by plastering machines directly on smooth concrete surfaces without the need to roughen the substrates by hacking or by applying rush coat.

PLASTOCELL is an ideal replacement for conventional, sand / cement plaster specially in coastal areas as it is sulphide and chloride resistant.

Application Information
Instructions for use

Surface preparation

Concrete or cement block surfaces must be clean, solid and free from dust, grease, curing compound, friable parts, efflorescence, etc.

Cellular concrete supports must be planar and clean from adhesive residues after block laying. Possible chases (as a result of plumbing and electrical works) must be filled with the same adhesive used for laying AAC Block (NEOFIL BLOCK).

For joints which were previously filled with elastic material like polyurethane foam, a supporting glass-fibers fabric must be applied. All the supports must be primed with PRIMER A18 before applying PLASTOCELL.

Mixing

To prepare the mortar, pour 8 - 9 liters of water into a container and add slowly, while mixing 50 Kg of PLASTOCELL bag.

Mix carefully for some minutes till obtaining a homogeneous mixture free from lumps.

Application

While the primer is still sticky, apply PLASTOCELL in double coat with smooth spatula or by plastering machine. To obtain a perfect finishing, the first coat must be applied in thin layer, and while it is still fresh the following coat must be applied to the required thickness.

Once dried at touch, the surface can be finished with smooth or sponge spatula to obtain the essential effect desired.
If a plaster machine is used, the plaster would be applied in a continuous operation and finished manually to the specified thickness.

The recommended applied thickness per coat would be:

  • Ceilings approx. 6 mm
  • Internal Walls 6 – 10 mm
  • External Walls 7 – 10 mm

Protect the surface from too rapid water evaporation by applying water curing for a minimum of 3 days.

Recommendations

  • No further water should be added to the mix. Hard and set plaster should not be re-mixed or used.
  • Do not apply PLASTOCELL onto gypsum, metallic and wooden supports.
  • PLASTOCELL is not coloured so the possibility of non-perfectly homogeneous coloured finishing exists.
  • During summer season, working area should be covered to prevent the direct sun effects. Keep equipment cool and use cold water.
  • The applied plaster has to be water cured for a period of 2 days.
  • Before applying any kind of stucco finish, paint, or wall paper the plaster has to be allowed to dry out completely.
  • Should not be applied on floors or on painted surfaces.
