Application Information
Instructions for use

Surface preparation

The substrate should be free of loose particles, dust, dirt, grease, oil or paint. Absorbent and porous substrates should be moistened with water prior the application of RASANTE P-20F.

In case of non absorbent surfaces, a spatter dash slurry coat DASHBOND should be applied as a key coat to improve adhesion and high bonding with the substrate.

In case of surface contains microsilica, DASHBOND SPX spatter dash slurry should be applied to improve adhesion with the substrate.

Concrete or block substrates should have been allowed to cure sufficiently. All shrinkage movements should take place before applying RASANTE P-20F.

Saturate the surface with water and wait for the evaporation of excess water before applying the mix.

Mixing

RASANTE P-20F should be mixed with clean water to obtain a homogeneous mixture free from lumps. One 50 Kg bag of RASANTE P-20F should be mixed with about 8 – 9 Liters of clean water. The mixture remains workable for 1 hour after mixing (at +25ºC). Let the mix set for 5 minutes, then remix before application.

Application

Apply RASANTE P-20F on the surface manually with a plastering trowel or by using a spraying machine in a single layer not exceeding 20mm thickness.

When the plaster has "set", smooth finishing can be achieved with a wooden or foam float. The Float should be moistened during the smoothing operation.

If more thickness is required, the application should be done in two layers. In the first layer, apply RASANTE P-20F in a thickness of 10-15mm, a rough texture is to be obtained to provide mechanical key for the second layer. The second layer should be applied at least 48 hours after the first layer. Within this period cure the plaster with clean water. Apply the second layer at a thickness of up to 20mm.

If applying with spray machine, RASANTE P-20F mix should not be allowed to stand unused in the machine for longer than 30 minutes.

In order to ensure proper curing, it is advisable to keep the plastered surface moist and protected from sun and wind during the first 48 hours.

Cleaning

Tools and equipment should be cleaned with water immediately after use. Hardened materials should be mechanically removed.

Recommendations

  • No further water should be added to the mix. Hard and set plaster should not be re-mixed or used.
  • Do not apply RASANTE P-20F onto gypsum, metallic and wooden supports.
  • Do not apply RASANTE P-20F on surface exposed to movement, vibration or mechanical impacts.
  • During summer season, working area should be covered to prevent the direct sun effects. Keep equipment cool and use cold water.
  • The applied plaster has to be water cured for a period of 3 days.
  • Before applying any kind of stucco finish, paint, or wall paper the plaster has to be allowed to dry out completely.
  • Should not be applied on floors or on painted surfaces.
