Pre-Applied Fully Bonded Waterproofing Membrane
A high performance, pre-applied waterproofing membrane engineered to bond permanently and integrally with freshly poured concrete. It is made up of a strong HDPE carrier sheet, a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer and a protective coating that work together to create a lasting, full-surface bond with structural concrete.
Once bonded, the system forms a seamless barrier that effectively prevents water ingress and lateral water migration between the membrane and the structure. This ensures durable protection against high water pressure in both horizontal and vertical blindside applications.
Packaging
PROOF HDPE 3400 PLUS is supplied in rolls.
Size: 1.2mm x 1.2mm x 30m
Weight: 48-50kg/roll
Storage:
Store PROOF HDPE 3400 PLUS in a dry shaded area away from direct sunlight, dust and moisture at room temperature between 5°C to 45°C. Prevent pallet double stacking.

Surface Preparation
The substrate should be stable, compacted and devoid of any sharp projections. Suitable materials for the substrate include blinding concrete, compacted ganular fill, rigid insulation and approved lagging boards. Any standing water must be removed before installation begins.
Horizontal Blinding
The substrate must be free of loose particles and sharp protrusions. Avoid curved or rounded substrates. Any standing water must be removed before installation begins.
Vertical Sheet Piling
Use concrete, plywood, insulation or other approved facing to sheet piling to provide support for the membrane. When using board systems like timber lagging, ensure they are close-butted and maintain an alignment tolerance within 12mm.
Membrane Installation
Position the PROOF HDPE 3400 PLUS membrane so that the coarse, textured layer faces upward (toward the fresh concrete pour), while ensuring the smooth HDPE film side in direct contact with the underlying susbtrate. Stagger end laps to prevent layer build up. Align the following sheets to overlap the previous one by 75mm along the marked selvedge. Ensure the underside of the next sheet is clean, dry and free from contamination before overlapping. To achieve a continous, smooth bond without creases, apply firm, consistent pressure using a heavy roller; any initial tack will quickly diminish.
Roll Ends and Cut Edges
Overlap all membrane roll ends and cut edges by a minimum of 75mm to ensure a continuous, watertight seal. The surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of dust or contaminants before bonding.
Once positioned, use PROOF HDPE TAPE to seal the overlap and firmly roll it to create a watertight seal. Any exposed selvage or areas with compromised adhesion must be restored with fresh tape or membrane patches to maintain the integrity of the system.
Concrete Pouring
Reinforcement can be set directly on top of the membrane, but extra care must be taken during the concrete pour to prevent displacement or damage. Best practices suggest pouring the concrete ideally within 6 to 8 weeks following the membrane's installation, though specific timelines may be adjusted based on local climate and site conditions. It is crucial to ensure that consolidation tools or vibrators are not used in direct contact with the membrane surface.
Formwork Removal
Formwork supporting the membrane must remain in place until the concrete achieves sufficient compressive strength to establish a secure and permanent bond with the membrane. To prevent a loss of adhesion or compromise the integrity of the fully bonded waterproofing system, premature stripping of the formwork must be avoided. The recommended minimum concrete compressive strength before removing any formwork is 20 N/mm².
Corners
Form internal and external corners according to the provided diagrams, ensuring the membrane extends at least 100mm beyond the corner. Seal these sections with PROOF HDPE 3400 PLUS bonding tape, paying particular attention to covering and firmly rolling the tape over the corner apex. Fold and crease the membrane tightly against the substrate to maintain a flush profile and prevent hollow gaps.
During application wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment which includes clothing, goggles, gloves and respiratory equipment if necessary.
