Application Information
Instructions for use

Surface preparation

The surface of the concrete to be prepared shall be sound, clean and uncontaminated.

This preparation shall be such as to leave a sound exposed concrete surface free from dust, loose particles and any deleterious matter. If the concrete surface is defective or has laitance, it must be cut back to a sound base. Excess laitance deposits are best removed by light mechanical scrabbling, grinding or grit/captive blasting followed by vacuum cleaning to remove dust debris.

All cracks and imperfections shall be repaired using BETOFINISH C, a cementitious fairing coat.

New concrete floors should be allowed to cure for at least 28 days before applying the primer.

The substrate must be treated with PRIMER A18, a synthetic resin, high penetrating primer.

Primer A18 should be applied by brush or roller on to the cleaned surface area (particularly hidden surfaces) at a rate of 5-6 m²/Liter.

The primer should be left to achieve a tack-free condition before applying the top coat. A second coat of primer may be required if the substrate is excessively porous.

Pour into a container with 5.0 Liters of water for 25 Kg bag of AUTOLIVELLANTE 30. Add the product to the water and mix with a low speed electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle for 2 minutes scraping sides and bottom of the can, until a uniform, lump free consistency mix is achieved. Allow the mix to stand for 3 minutes and then remix again for 30 seconds.
Mix a quantity of product that can be applied within 30 minutes only. Do not remix with water if the mixture had already begun to set.

Pour the mixed product into the surface and spread to the desired thickness using flooring rake and a spike roller.

Protect the floor after leveling the mix from direct sunlight, high winds or rain.

AUTOLIVELLANTE 30 can be applied for thickness from 5 up to 25 mm per coat.

It is possible to apply flooring material on top of AUTOLIVELLANTE 30 screed (such as ceramic, carpet, etc.) after nearly 48 hours from curing the product (depending on the thickness, the supports humidity and weather conditions)

Curing of the completed floor shall be carried out using a combination of damp hessian and polythene sheeting for a period of no less than 2 days.

The product is self-leveling and requires minimal finishing or troweling operation.

Clean tools and equipment with water before the material hardens.

  • Do not apply if the temperature is below +5ºC.
  • During summer season or temperature higher than +35°C, working area should be covered to prevent the direct sun effects. Keep equipment cool and use cool water
  • Ground floor slabs on sloping gradient must incorporate a damp proof membrane in the sub-floor
  • It is advisable to mix with cool water (temperature around +20ºC)
  • Protect the freshly applied AUTOLIVELLANTE 30 from direct sunlight and/or strong drying wind
  • AUTOLIVELLANTE 30 should not be applied over asphalt, weaker friable concrete, PVC tiles, or sheet substrates
  • AUTOLIVELLANTE 30 should be cured for two days by covering with wet Hessian cloth and polythene sheet
