Shelf Life & Storage

Storage:

Store EPOFLOOR P1140 in dry and covered shed. Exposure to extreme temperature and direct sun light results in the deterioration of the product’s efficiency and reduces its shelf life. If stored as recommended its shelf life would be 12 months from the manufacturing date.

Surface preparation

The surface should be sound, clean, dry and free from loose and flaking materials, efflorescence, laitance, curing compounds, dirt, oil, grease or other contaminants. Mechanical methods like grinding or grit/captive blasting in order to provide a suitable profiled open textured surface is strongly recommended.

New concrete or cementitious surfaces should be at least 28 days old and have moisture content not exceeding 5%. Old or existing floor should be refurbished mechanically to ensure clear sound substrate.

Surface irregularities and blow holes shall be repaired with EPOFINISH.

Expansion joints shall be repaired using EPOMORT HS, a high strength solvent free epoxy mortar.

After all preparation is complete, ensure dust is removed from the surface using an industrial vacuum.

Application

Priming

Apply single component PRIMER PU using a suitable roller at the rate of 5-6m²/Liter depending on the substrate profile and porosity.
The primer should be left to achieve a tack-free condition for 6-8 hours before applying the top coat. If the substrate is excessively porous, a second coat of primer shall be applied again.

For Anti Slip Surface

Broadcast QUARTZO No. 2 at a rate of 0.4 to 1.0 kg/m2 while the primer is still wet. Allow the applied product to cure for 16 hours. Remove the excess sand. Remove loose or prominent particle using a trowel then clean the substrate with a vacuum.

Intermediate Coat

Stir properly EPOFLOOR P380 to ensure uniformity of color before application. Product will be ready for use. Apply by roller or airless spray to the primed tack-free surface at a minimum consumption rate of 4.0 m2/ Liter per coat.

For ramps and turning areas, apply an additional coat of EPOFLOOR P380 at the same rate.

Top Coat

Stir EPOFLOOR P500 properly to ensure uniformity of color before application.
To provide a UV resistant coating to the system and to enhance durability performance, apply one coat of EPOFLOOR P500 at a minimum rate of 4.0 m2/Liters for pedestrian traffic and 3.0m2/Liters for vehicular traffic by roller or airless spray.

Line Marking Coating

Mix the content of the container before application. EPOFLOOR LM can be applied by brush, roller, and airless spray at the rate of 5m2/Liters for 200 micron DFT (Dry Film Thickness).

Recommendations

  • EPOFLOOR P1140 should be applied to the prepared floor after a curing of 28 days or more has elapsed.
  • EPOFLOOR P1140 should not be applied to the following substrates: damp substrates, asphalt, PVC tiles or sheets, hardboard / chipboard.
  • Do not apply EPOFLOOR P1140 when the humidity exceeds 90%.
  • Make sure that the substrate temperature is +3°C higher than the dew point.
