Application Information
Instructions for use

Surface preparation

All surfaces should be sound, clean & uncontaminated. This preparation should leave an exposed concrete surface free from dust, loose particles, deletrious matter, oil, grease, chemical films & other contaminant.
All loose particles of mortar, paint, etc. must be physically removed.
Concrete or blockwork: should be allowed to cure sufficiently so that all shrinkage movements take place before fixing tiles.
Gypsum supports: must be treated with PRIMER A16. Should not have a percentage of humidity more than 10%.

Mixing
Place  4.8 – 5.0 liters of cold, potable water (or ELASTOKOL as needed) in the mixing bucket and add slowly 25 kg bag of NEOFIL TILE GLUE ULTRA under continuous mixing till a uniform lump free consistency mix is achieved. For mixing process, a slow speed drill (200- 300rpm) fitted with a suitable paddle is recommended.
Allow the obtained mix to stand for 3 minutes and then remix before application.

Application
Spread NEOFIL TILE GLUE ULTRA on the substrate to a uniform thickness using a toothed spatula, the first pass with its straight edge and the second pass immediately after, to the desired thickness using the toothed part.
Place the tiles onto the adhesive bed. Apply sufficient pressure on the tile during fixing it with slight twisting movement in order to ensure good contact with the adhesive.
In case of large size tiles, it is necessary to spread the adhesive also to the backside of the tile and then place the tiles into the adhesive bed.
Apply enough material that can be tiled during the adhesive’s open wet time.
Spreading large areas may result in drying the adhesive before tiles can be fixed causing poor adhesion.

Finishing
Remove excess adhesive with damp cloth before the material has set.  Joint grouting between tiles may be commenced 10 hours after tiles have been laid on the walls and 24 hours after tiles are laid on the floors.

Cleaning
Tools and equipment should be cleaned with water immediately after use. Hardened materials should be mechanically removed.

Recommendations

n To achieve improve adhesion strength, it is recommended to replace water with ELASTOKOL

n Stiffened mortar  must neither be diluted with water nor with fresh mortar

n Do not use NEOFIL TILE GLUE ULTRA  on metal or non-absorbing surfaces

n Do not apply NEOFIL TILE GLUE ULTRA  in rainy weather, high winds and sand storms

n Do not apply under direct sun

n Keep equipment cool and use cold water

n Porosity of tiles and substrates has significant effect on adhesive strength of tiles

Additional Information
Health & Safety

NEOFIL TILE GLUE ULTRA can be harmful to skin as it contains cement powders which may releases alkalis when mixed with water.
During application, wear appropriate protective clothing, goggles, gloves and respiratory equipment if necessary.
In case of contact with skin, rinse with water and again wash thoroughly with soap and water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical advice accordingly. If ingested, obtain medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting.

Monneli Primer A16

Synthetic Resin Primer

Uses
PRIMER A16 is used for the preventive treatment prior to laying of ceramic tiles with the cement adhesive on gypsum boards. Such application on the supports avoids the chemical reaction between the gypsum sulphates and the cement aluminates contained in the adhesives for ceramic tiles, which in case of humidity presence could provoke breakaway of tiles.
It can be also used at gypsum or very porous supports before painting with acrylic or vinyl paints, to avoid too fast drying.
PRIMER A16 is used on light weight plaster and other porous surfaces such as asbestos boards, on wood, hardboard, chipboard, and so on, before fixing ceramic wall and floor tiles in the usual way.
