Water Based Epoxy Primer
A two-components, water dispersed epoxy primer formulated for high performance protection. The product has waterborne advantages of low VOC, no solvent emission, and easy clean-up, low odor and application flexibility (airless spray, brush, and roll).
PRIMER POXY WB is compatible with most high performance finish coats and, in many cases, can be used as an effective barrier coat when coating previously painted surfaces. The product can also be used as a primer for damp concrete or masonry surfaces.
PRIME POXY WB is supplied in pre-weighed packs ready for use on-site. When mixed and applied to concrete or masonry surfaces, it cures to form a hard, semi matt barrier coating to restrict the ingress of dampness through concrete masonry.
Packaging:
PRIMER POXY WB is available in 4 and 15 Liter packing.
Consumption:
3-5 m2/ Liter per coat according to the porosity of the surface.
Storage:
Store the product in dry closed place with temperature between +5 ºC to +35ºC. In these conditions, the product maintains its stability for 12 months.

Surface Preparation
Surface must be clean, dry, and in sound condition. Remove all oil, dust, grease, dirt, loose rust, and other foreign material to ensure adequate adhesion.
Steel (Atmospheric Service)
Remove all oil and grease from surface by cleaning with solvent. For better performance, use sand blasting cleaning method.
Remove all weld spatter and round all sharp edges by grinding. Prime any bare steel the same day as it is cleaned or before flash rusting occurs.
Masonry and Concrete
Surfaces should be thoroughly clean and dry. Concrete and mortar must be totally cured. Remove all loose mortar and foreign material. Surface must be free of laitance, concrete dust, dirt, release agents, moisture curing membranes, loose cement and hardeners.
Fill bug holes, air pockets and other voids with any of EPOFINISH C or BETOFINISH C concrete repair products. Weathered masonry and soft or porous cement board must be cleaned or brush blasted to remove loosely adhering contamination and to get to a hard, firm surface.
Mixing
For preparation of product, pour component B (Hardener) into component A (Base) and mix carefully with electric mixer at low number of turns, till obtaining a homogenous mix. For general application, after mixing part A and B, additional water is required to adjust the application viscosity. Slowly add water in the ratio of 1 part water: 4 part mixture of (A&B).
Application
The mixed PRIMER POXY WB should be applied to the prepared surface using a brush or lamb’s wool roller at a consumption rate of 3-5 m2/ Liter. Ensure that the area is completely coated and that ‘ponding’ of the material does not occur since water may be trapped within the product, thus preventing complete cure. The second coat may be applied as soon as the first coat has initially dried (typically 4 - 6 hours). The time will be dependent on the type of surface and the ambient conditions. Good drying conditions are required to allow complete evaporation of the water as the resin cures. Adequate ventilation and air movement is necessary. Apply the finishing top coat after PRIMER POXY WB has dried to a transparent film (no milky spots) and is tack-free.
Cleaning
Wash tools and hands with water promptly before material hardens. Cured material must be mechanically removed.
Recommendation
PRIMER POXY WB should not be applied on asphalt floor and PVC tiles
Avoid contact with skin & eyes. Protective clothing such as gloves & safety goggles should be worn during application. Treat any splashes to the skin or eyes with fresh water immediately. Should the product be accidentally swallowed, do not induce vomiting, but call for medical assistance immediately. Ensure adequate ventilation at site and avoid inhalation of vapours.
