Surface Preparation
Surface must be structurally sound, clear, free of dust, loose material, laitance and other contaminants. Saturate the surface with water and wipe down before commencing treatment.
For repairing damaged concrete or plaster, be sure to saw cut the surface till reaching sound surface. Surfaces should be saturated with water to avoid possible backwater at the moment of casting.
Before applying the screed for repairing, apply always the anchorage mortar to assure a perfect adhesion to the old cement support. Do not let the anchorage mortar dry but cast fresh on fresh.
Cement Rendering on Smooth Concrete
Make a conventional dry mortar. Mix 1 volume of PVA LATEX RIPRESA with 2 or 3 volumes of water with this mixture. Mix the mortar to the required workability of a rendering mortar. Key coat is made of (water + PVA LATEX RIPRESA) at ratio of 1:3.
Cement Screed Underlay Key Slurry
Mix PVA LATEX RIPRESA and water 1:2 in volume. Use this solution to prepare a slurry with cement and coarse sand in the proportion of 1:1 weight.
Mortar will be proportioned at 500 Kg. / m³ cement.
Apply slurry on the slab uniformly with a brush.
Topping Mortar
Mix PVA LATEX RIPRESA and water in the proportion 1:3 in volume. From this solution prepare an earth moist mortar for the screed. Apply the screed mortar on the slurry to the required thickness, before the slurry dries up. Strongly float the screed on the slurry while still wet and level the surface.
As a General Adhesive
After surface preparation, apply a thin film of PVA LATEX RIPRESA over both faces and allow to become tacky (20 to 30 minutes).
Bring the surfaces firmly together, position as required, wipe off any excess and allow to set for 24 hours.
Surface Sealing for Porous & Dusting Concrete Sub-Floors
Mix 1 part of PVA LATEX RIPRESA with 5 parts of water, apply 2 coats of the solution and when dry, a final coat of a solution prepared by mixing 1 part of PVA LATEX RIPRESA with 3 parts of water must be applied.
Minor Repair Work
Mix mortar (1 part cement with 1 part sand) with a solution consisting of 1 part PVA LATEX RIPRESA and two parts of water, and apply with a trowel (use fine sand).
Plaster Bonding
Seal the surface by applying a bonding coat then apply the plaster on to the tacky surface.
Bitumen Primer
Prime the bitumen with a solution of 1 part PVA LATEX RIPRESA to 1 part water to form an anti bleed coat suitable for most oil based paints.
Surfaces exposed to wind or sun, or work carried out in hot climate conditions must be protected against excessively fast drying. The proportion of cement and PVA LATEX RIPRESA required, increases as the mortar thickness decreases.
Cleaning
Clean tools and equipment immediately with water after use.
Handle the product with caution. Use gloves and goggles to avoid any contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes, wash abundantly with warm water and consult a doctor immediately.
