Liquid Floor Hardener & Dust Proofing
A clear liquid based on sodium silicate, it can be used to harden both concrete floors and granolithic paving where dusting is a problem. It also improves abrasion resistance and protects against wear.
BETOHARD L reacts chemically with the free lime and other calcium products in the cement, to provide hard insoluble crystals which binds the particles together to produce permanent protective coating.
Packaging:
BETOHARD L is supplied in 20 Liter and 200 Liter containers.
Consumption:
The coverage of BETOHARD L depends on the porosity of surfaces but generally, it is approximately 5–10 m²/Liter per coat depending on surface texture and porosity. Normally two coats are recommended.
Storage:
Store the products in covered dry sheds, in its original unopened packaging.
Shelf life:
12 months if stored as recommended.

Surface preparation
The surface of the concrete shall be sound, clean and uncontaminated. If the concrete surface is defective or has laitance, it must be cut back to a sound base. Excess laitance deposits are best removed by light mechanical scrabbling, grinding or grit/captive blasting followed by vacuum cleaning to remove dust debris.
Any blowholes, chipping or similar surface imperfections shall be repaired using EPOFINISH C, a solvent free epoxy resin repair mortar. Expansion joints shall be repaired using EPOMORT HS a High strength solvent free epoxy mortar.
New concrete floors should be allowed to cure for at least 21 days before applying the hardener.
Application
BETOHARD L is supplied in ready-to-use drums. Saturate the surface completely by applying the product using a soft broom or squeegee. Spread the solution by moving the broom back and forth over the surface to guarantee a good penetration.
Normally two coats are sufficient for typical surfaces. In case of power floated surfaces one coat of BETOHARD L would be sufficient. Allow a period of 24 hours between coats to assure that the first coat had dried. Allow the product to be absorbed for minimum 2 hours, and then remove all non– absorbed solution out of the surface. The floor should be washed with clean water after 24 hours from applying the last coat.
BETOHARD L is not recommended for highly porous surfaces.
Cleaning
Tools and equipment should be cleaned with water immediately after use.
During application, wear appropriate protective clothing, goggles, gloves and respiratory equipment if necessary.
In case of contact with skin, rinse with water and again wash thoroughly with soap and water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical advice accordingly.
If ingested, obtain medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting.
