Acrylic based concrete curing compound
BETOCURE AR is an acrylic emulsion based concrete curing compound which is used to prevent the rapid evaporation of water from fresh concrete surfaces. The resultant film retains sufficient moisture in the concrete to ensure uniform hydration, high surface strength, dust free, and higher resistance to abrasion and protection from drying shrinkage.
Packaging:
BETOCURE AR is packed in plastic containers of 20 liters and 210 liters.
Consumption:
6-8 m²/liter, depending on concrete surface condition.
Shelf Life:
BETOCURE AR has a minimum shelf life of 12 months, provided the temperature is kept within the range of 5°C to 35°C. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight should be avoided. Containers should be kept sealed and airtight to prevent of moisture by evaporation.

Pre-application
BETOCURE AR should be stirred before application. Product is ready for use directly from the drum and should not be diluted with water.
Surface should be free of water. In case of horizontal surfaces, the product should be applied as soon as the bleed water has evaporated from the surface. With formed concrete, BETOCURE AR should be applied immediately upon removal of the formwork.
Application
BETOCURE AR should be applied uniformly by brush, roller or spray to the surface of fresh concrete at a rate of 5m²/liter. In certain cases, especially during high temperature or windy seasons, rate of application might be increased.
Application should be back and forth to ensure complete coverage. The coating cures to form a clear film which provides a moisture barrier to enable effective curing.
Do not spray water or any other material after applying BETOCURE AR. Allow the surface to cure without any disturbance until a seamless strong film is formed. No compaction or vibrating acts are allowed close to the cured area as this will break the freshly sprayed film.
Application on damp surface is preferable as dry concrete surface may absorb BETOCURE AR emulsion, which may cause difficulty to remove the dry film at a later stage.
BETOCURE AR should be applied to newly hardened concrete immediately after demolding. It should never be applied on concrete which has started to dry out, otherwise the hydration mechanism will be seriously impaired.
Over-coating and Removal
BETOCURE AR must be removed from concrete surface before the application of subsequent coating work commences, to promote a proper bond between the concrete and the applied coating.
Although the membrane will be slowly removed by normal trafficking & UV exposure, this is likely to be inconsistent. To ensure complete removal, use high pressure steam, water blasting or light sand blasting.
Cleaning
Equipment and tools used should be cleaned promptly with water.
Recommendations
BETOCURE AR does not fall into hazardous classification of current regulation. However, it should not be swallowed or allowed to come into contact with skin or eyes in either spray or bulk form.
Splashes on the skin should be removed with water. In case in contact with eyes, rinse immediately with water and seek medical attention.
If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and goggles.
